Original Idea
The Plant Changed Everything
I hadn't watched WALL·E in a long time, and honestly, I'd forgotten how important the little plant was. The moment I saw it again, I became obsessed with it. It quickly became the heart of the entire kit and inspired so many of the recipes, activities, and little details throughout the experience.
Biggest Challenge
Finding the Right Balance
One of the hardest parts was capturingWALL·Ewithout making everything feel too futuristic or robotic. I wanted the kit to celebrate the movie's deeper message about hope, nature, and human connection while still including plenty of fun nods to WALL·E himself.
Unexpected Favorite
The Healthier Menu
One thing I remembered immediately was the contrast between the tiny plant representing hope and the unhealthy lifestyle aboard the Axiom. That completely changed my direction. Instead of filling the menu with typical movie-night junk food, I leaned into fresh ingredients and colorful foods. It ended up becoming one of my favorite creative decisions because it reflected the heart of the story in a simple, meaningful way.

The Chocolate Earth Dome
This dessert was hands-down my favorite part of the menu. I loved taking the idea of Earth at the beginning of the movie and turning it into something you could actually crack open. The dark chocolate shell represented the lifeless, forgotten world, while the bright green mousse hidden inside became the new life waiting to be discovered. It felt like the perfect way to tell one of the movie's biggest stories through dessert—and honestly, it was just really fun to create.

The Treasure Recovery Mission
I expected this activity to be fun, but I never expected everyone to get so invested. Even my teenage son joined in, which almost never happens. I loved hiding the treasures around the house and watching everyone search for them. The funniest part? I couldn't even remember where I hid the very last item. We finally stumbled across it completely by accident... about three months later! I still laugh every time I think about it.

The Little Plant
Without even realizing it at first, the little plant became the thread that connected the entire experience. Once I rewatchedWALL·E, I couldn't stop finding ways to include it. It appeared inside the chocolate Earth dome, inspired the bright green mousse hidden within, made its way into the drinks, surrounded the charcuterie board, showed up in the salad, and even found its place throughout the activities and decorations. Before long, I realized it wasn't just another movie reference—it had become the heart of the kit. Just like in the film, one tiny plant quietly brought everything together.
